Sometimes we learn of things a long time before they are officially announced. That was the case recently with a show that was officially announced Wednesday though we've known about it for several weeks now.
The show in question is the WOZ boxing show set for September 16th at the Shimazu Arena in Kyoto city.
The show is a double main header with two Japanese title fights set to headline the card, with both of the WOZ champions defending their belts against credible challengers.
One of those bouts comes at Bantamweight where unbeaten champion Shohei Omori (14-0, 9) defends his belt for the first time and takes on former world title challenger Hirofumi Mukai (11-3-2, 1). The other bout will come at Lightweight where rangy champion Kota Tokunaga (15-2, 10) battles against the heavy handed Yuhei Suzuki (16-4, 12).
Although the four men will all be looking for wins the announcement was a friendly one with no animosity or needle between any of the fighters. However all 4 seemed to think that they were going to be involved in some really exciting action.
