Kuroki, the WBC female Minimumweight champion, was testing the water above her usual divisional limit as she took on Kanitha, who had never been stopped. Despite the move up in weight the Japanese fighter's class and ability shone through as she made very light work of the over-matched Thai.
Kuroki started fast, letting her southpaw jabs go from the off before following them up with hard straight lefts. From the opening seconds it was clear that she wasn't in there to mess about and was instead in there to excite the local fans.
The excite was relatively short lived as the referee had to save the Thai in round 3, officially ending the bout at the 0:43 mark of the round.
Although this win was easy we are expecting to see Kuroki in a bigger test in December, when she is expected to defend her world title for the 3rd time. Details of that bout however haven't all been sorted as of yet.
Note-Kanitha has a reported record of 7-5 (2), though as with most Thai's her actual record is hard to hunt down, the 0-4 figure is taken from boxrec
