This coming Friday sees two Japanese fighters fighting in South Africa, as Tsuyoshi Tameda (13-1-2, 11) [溜田 剛士] faces former WBA Featherweight champion Simpiwe Vetyeka (28-3, 17) whilst former Japanese Super Flyweight champion Yohei Tobe (9-2-1, 5) [戸部洋平] faces Luzuko Siyo (15-3, 12).
Yesterday those two Japanese fighters set off for South Africa, leaving Narita Airport last night.
The two have followed in the recent footsteps of Yoshihiro Kamegai (26-3-2, 23) [亀海喜寛], who fought to a draw in the US this past Friday, and Hisashi Amagasa (30-6-2, 20) [天笠 尚], who was beaten in the UK. Given the judging in both of those bouts it's fare to say that Tameda and Tobe will be aware of the difficulty of getting a decision on the road and will be looking to take the decision out of the hands of the judges.
