Earlier today saw an announcement regarding a Filipino show at the start of April which will feature a trio of WBO minor title bouts.
One of those bouts will feature Japanese world ranked fighter Hiroshige Osawa (29-3-4, 18) [大沢 宏晋] battling against limited Indonesian Yon Armed (12-5-1, 6) for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Featherweight crown. A win for Osawa here is likely to boost him up the rankings, given that's what regional titles do for a fighter, and could well see him in the running for a world title fight in the summer.
Another of those bouts features former world title challenger Vic Saludar (11-2, 9) facing Lito Dante (11-5-3, 6) in an all Filipino bout for the Minimumweight title. This will be Saludar's first bout since his world title contest with Kosei Tanaka at the end of 2015 and he'll be looking to build on the attention that he got from that bout, which saw him drop Tanaka before being stopped himself.
The third bout will be at Flyweight as the once beaten Jake Bornea (10-1, 5) faces Renerio Arizala (13-3-1, 5) in a bout for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth Flyweight title. Although the least significant of the bouts it could well end up being the best with both youngsters knowing a win will really enhance their standing in the sport.
As well as the three title bouts it's also been confirmed that the exciting Froilan Saludar (23-1-1, 14) will be in a stay busy bout on the show,.
