We've known for a few weeks now that former WBC Flyweight champion Toshiyuki Igarashi (20-2-1, 11) would be in action on June 6th. Originally it was announced that the Japanese fighter would be up against Filipino journeyman Lionel Mark Duran (13-11-2, 5), a limited but relatively tough opponent who had only been stopped by the big hitting pair of Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Julio Ceja.
Now it's been revealed that it won't be Duran in the opposite corner to Igarashi and instead it will be once beaten Renerio Arizala (12-1, 5) in what appears to be a much more attractive match up on paper.
Arizala isn't as experienced as Duran but the "Amazing" 21 year old has a lot of desire and ambition left in his career and will be hoping to shock Igarashi to help rebuild following his sole loss, a 4th round TKO to Ardin Diale last October. Although naturally a Flyweight Arizala is a growing young fighter and he may well manage to make this bout with Igarashi very interesting for the Japanese fighter, who is now campaigning at Super Flyweight.
