Earlier this year we were supposed to see a rematch between Japanese Welterweight champion Toshio Arikawa (14-4, 12) [有川 稔男] and the under-rated Daisuke Sakamoto (14-8-3, 8) [坂本 大輔]. Thatbout was sadly cancelled when Arikawa suffered a significant injury in training and it lead to Sakamoto fighting for the interim title, claiming that belt with a win over over Makoto Kawasaki (9-5-1, 2) [川崎真琴].
Today saw the announcement that the Arikawa Vs Sakamoto bout had now been re-arranged, and will take place on November 7th at the Korakuen Hall, with the Japanese and Japanese interim titles being unified.
Interestingly when the men first fought it was Sakamoto coming out on top, with an opening round stoppage over Arikawa back in April 2014, and Arikawa will certainly be out for revenge here in what looks like a mouth watering clash, even ifwe have been forced to wait longer than we'd have liked.
At the moment there have been no details announced about the under-card, but it will be announced in the coming weeks.
