The next opponent for Japanese female boxing star Tomomi Takano (4-0, 3), pictured opposite in pink, has been announced as being a Thai fighter who is apparently a professional debutant.
Whilst the name was announced, in Japanese, we're unsure on the "English version" of her name though we believe her first name is Kurabukao.
Little is known about the Thai though it's reported that she had an a 28-12 amateur record. She could turn out to be the sort of fighter who could upset Tomomi though we're thinking that she has been selected as a safe opponent for the Japanese beauty who appears to have the potential to draw large crowds just on her looks.
Tomomi's return is set to take place on March 24th as she provides support on the undercard of the very exciting looking Kyoei card that features 2 title fights. Although she is on the under-card we dare say that she will receive a good number of the headlines between now and the fight and it's little wonder she is being paid 1,000,000 Yen for considering the attention she will bring to show and to boxing in general.
We often talk about cross over stars in the west. Whether Tomomi has world class boxing ability or not she is certainly a fighter with genuine cross over appeal due to her looks and charisma two things that aren't often found in boxing and having her on a show will guarantee a lot more interest in a show than it'd have with out her.
