Earlier today Japanese fight fans had a solid card at the Korakuen Hall, with a number of notable fighters in action in the supporting bouts.
One of those was the touted Kaiki Yuba (3-0, 2) [湯場 海樹], who continued his unbeaten start as he over-come tough Filipino journeyman Pablito Canada (6-13-3,1), who proved his toughness once again by taking the heavy handed Yuba the 6 round schedule.
Another bout of note saw former Japanese title challenger Tatsuya Otsubo (10-8-1, 3) [大坪竜也] over-came former OPBF title challenger Ryuto Araya (11-6-1, 3) [荒谷 龍人] in a razor thin decision, with a knockdown by Otsubo being the difference. The under-rated Otsubo has now won two in a row after back-to-back losses in 2015 though sadly this was a second successive set back for Araya.
Also on this card was former Japanes Super Flyweight champion Yohei Tobe (12-2-1, 8) [戸部洋平], who scored a stunning KO over Saengthong Tor Buamas (5-3, 5). The Japanese fighter hadn't fought in over a year, due to injury, but never looked in any trouble before knocking out the Thai in round 5.
