On December 29th we saw the talented Inoue brothers retain their titles. The day saw Naoya Inoue (9-0, 8) look sensational blowing out Warlito Parrenas in the second round and Takuma Inoue (6-0, 1) retain the OPBF Super Flyweight title with a clear decision win against Rene Dacquel.
Despite the wins the brothers didn't get much time to relax and actually returned to training on January 1st as they begin looking towards their next bouts.
The match ups for both are expected to come in May with Naoya defending his world title, for the second time, and Takuma defending his OPBF title, also for the second time. The two men are making sure they don't get complacent and make it very clear that they aren't going to waste their talent.
At the moment it's unclear who either man will be fighting, though rumours have continued to circle that Naoya will be facing Omar Andres Narvaez either in the May bout, or in a Summer bout in the US, or David Carmona, a Mexican who fought to a draw last year with Parrenas in an interim title fight.
