On Sunday (February 23rd) the IBF "updated" their word rankings for the second time this year. Unfortunately they forgot to actually update their rankings.
Things weren't exactly as they were a month ago, but you had to go through the rankings with a tooth comb to spot the few differences between the rankings issues in February and those issues several weeks earlier (January 14th).
The key differences that we saw were that their Super Featherweight title had been returned to Argenis Mendez after his loss to Cuban Rances Barthelemy was over-turned to a no contest and that Moruti Mthalane was no longer the IBF's Flyweight title.
Whilst both of these changes were common knowledge it seems the IBF don't actually realise that Thailand's Amnat Ruenroeng won their Flyweight title on January 22nd a full month before their rankings were updated!
We have e-mailed our contact in the IBF asking if these "updated" rankings were a mistake and we hope to update you on the situation as soon as possible.
For those wanting to see the IBF's "updated" rankings and their "old" rankings we have uploaded them as files:
