Earlier today Japanese fans in Aichi saw the debut of 17 year old prospect Musashi Mori (1-0, 1) [森 武蔵], though it was a blink and you miss it debut as he blew away Kazuya Fukai (0-2) [深井 一矢] in just 41 seconds.
Although not a mega prospect, in the vein of say a former Olympian or an amazingly gifted youngster like Noaya Inoue or Hinata Maruta, Mori has spent time under the guidance of of former WBC Bantamweight champion Yasuei Yakushiji and the hope is for Mori to make a real mark on the sport over the years that come.
Although he looked sensational today Mori's team know that they still only have a youngster on their hands and have shown little inclination to throw him to the wolves. Instead they will be hoping to have him fight in the 2017 Rookie of the Year and let him build from that. That was despite the fact he had impressed in various amateur tournaments on a youth basis and there are some suggesting that, given time, he could have major success in the future.
