Yesterday we reported that Japanese Welterweight champion Toshio Arikawa (13-4, 11) [有川 稔男] would be defending his title against Yasuhiro Okawa (14-12-3, 5) on November 14th. Today we've been informed that on the under-card of that show we'll see former Japanese amateur stand out Tatsuo Kawaura [川浦龍生], who will be introduced to professional boxing in a 6 round Super Flyweight bout, against a Thai foe.
At the moment we've not been given the name of the Thai or any other details but we have been informed that Kawaura is one to watch and is one of the more experienced Japanese amateurs to turn professional this year.
We're hoping to see more details on the under-card to emerge shortly and more details about Kawaura to emerge in the coming days, with the fighter not actually having his name on his promoters website at the moment, something that should change in the coming days. We know he was an established amateur talent, but we have struggled to get his specific records and achievements, though we know he is managed by Kawashima gym and should be guided by a team that are headed by a former world champion.
