In the last few moments we've been made aware of two fighters who will be taking part in "title preludes" ahead of possibly title bouts later in 2015. The bouts, both set for May 24th, will take place on Orio promoted card with the hope of giving both men tunes ups for what will be significant bouts.
Of the two fighters named for these bouts the most interesting is the unbeaten Takumi Sakae (11-0, 7) who is already world ranked by in the top 15 by 3 of the 4 world title bodies. The 21 year old Minimumweight was last seen in the ring claiming the IBF Youth Light Flyweight title and it seems clear that's set to become the face of the Orio gym. He first made his mark in 2013 when he claimed the Rookie of the Year crown in the Minimumweight division and has kept busy since. Although Sakae boasts an impressive record he has yet to step up and we hope that his opponent for May 24th will be a more notable foe that he's been facing recently.
The other fighter is is the more experienced Yosuke Kirima (20-4-2, 13), who has twice come up short in title bouts having been stopped by both Daisuke Nakagawa, back in February 2012, and Tadashi Yuba, in August 2013. Although a good fighter Kirima's chin has been an issue and was also responsible for him beign dropped inside the first 15 seconds of his bout with Arnel Tinampay back in November 2011.
At the moment neither fighter has had their opponent named for the show though neither is likely to face someone too imposing given the fact their promoter wants them to be getting title fights later in the year.
