A rumour currently coming out of Japan is that WBC Super Featherweight champion Takashi Miura will face a third successive Mexican when he next returns to the ring.
The 29 year old Miura, who won his world title earlier this year with a 9th round stoppage of Gamaliel Diaz, has defended the belt once defeating Sergio Thompson in a total war. It now seems likely that he will be facing Daniel Ponce De Leon.
Ponce De Leon, himself a former champion at Super Bantamweight and Featherweight would likely make for another excellent match up with Miura though one in which we would favour the Japanese fighter who really impressed against Thompson.
Although we'd love to see Miura/Uchiyama II it appears that we may be waiting a while, so Miura v Ponce De Leon is certainly an excellent fight in the interim.
