Japanese slugger Takashi Miura (29-2-2, 22) may not be one of the biggest names in Japanese boxing but the WBC Super Featherweight champion is clearly one of the most exciting pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. The "Bomber" always comes into the ring looking for a knockout and in recent years has been able to score them on a regular basis whilst thrilling fans with with his style and aggression.
Whilst we would love to be able to report that Miura's next bout is set in stone the fighter himself has recently admitted he's not yet sure of a date or venue for his next bout. What he does know however is that he's ready and waiting for his team to confirm his next contest.
The general rumours seem to be suggesting that Miura will be heading out west in the fall with his next bout likely to come in the US with Francisco Vargas said to be one of the leading contenders for Miura, in what would be a WBC mandatory defense. Other names mentioned however are IBF champion Jose Pedraza, in what would be an excellent unification bout.
Sadly until Teiken have sorted out the details it's unlikely we'll know what Miura's next step is. Saying that however the fighter has been busy in the gym and appears to be ready to focus on his game plan any particular opponent as soon as an opponent and date is given to him.
