In a few weeks we'll see a potential FOTY contender as Takashi Miura (31-3-2, 24) [三浦 隆司] takes on WBC Super Featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt (31-1, 28), in an attempt to become a 2-time world champion.
Today, ahead of that bout, Miura took part in an intense work out whilst some of the media looked on.
The heavy handed slugger, known as "Bomber Left", didn't take part in any sparring but did go through a harsh work out last 3 hours and see him work the mitts with Sendai Tanaka, rip into the Heavy bag and really step up his training in a big way. It seems that whilst was no sparring today there is set to be a big step up there, with an 8 round session set for later this week, and 10 rounds set for next week
It was revealed at today's session that Miura will be using the Everlast "Powerlock" gloves, having been reccomended them by stablemate Yoshihiro Kamegai, and it seems he has real belief in the gloves having also used them last time out, against Miguel Roman.
