We have been informed that former WBC Super Flyweight world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (29-4-1, 26) will be in action this coming Friday against Filipino foe Bobby Concepcion (11-5-1, 5). The bout will be the first defense by Srisaket's of the WBC Asian Boxing Council Super Flyweight title than he won with a somewhat uninspiring technical decision win over Zoren Pama back in September.
Although the bout isn't a great one for someone as talented and as fun to watch as Srisaket it is one that will help keep him busy, in fact it's his third bout in as many months following his win over Pama and his impressive KO against Boido Simanjuntak in October. Amazingly it will be his 8th bout this year and his third since losing his world title to Carlos Cuadras via technical decision in Mexico.
Concepcion, a 24 year old Filipino, has lost both of his bouts already this year, by stoppage. He will however come into this bout with experience of Thai conditions as his last bout was also in the Land of Smiles.
At the moment boxrec lists Srisaket as fighting Mateo Handig but we've been informed that it will be Concepcion.
The bout, for those interested in watching, will be shown on channel 3 from 13:55 local time.
