On February 24th we'll see "Superfly 2", headlined by a WBC world title bout between defending champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (44-4-1, 40) [ศรีสะเกษ นครหลวงโปรโมชั่น] and mandatory challenger Juan Francisco Estrada (36-2, 25).
Today it was revealed that as part of his preparations for the fight Srisaket was sparring with OPBF Bantamweight champion Mark John Yap (28-12, 14).
The sparring has seen the Japanese based Filipino really taken to task by the naturally smaller but very powerful Srisaket, with Yap noting the power and strength of the Thai, which has long been one of his keys. Not only was it Srisaket's power that has impressed but also his stamina, and Yap described him as a monster in that respect.
Despite being he naturally smaller man Srisaket has been showing not only his physicla prowess but also his under-rated timing and technical ability, something that many have over-looked when it's come to the destructive Nakornluang fighter. It seems like he's wanting to hone his technical skills ahead of facing Estrada, just to help sharpen one of his more over-looked weapons.
From what we under-stand Yap will continue to spar with Srisaket for the rest of he week and continue training along side the exceptionally hard hitting world champion.
