On Saturday we'll see a rematch of possibly the best fight this year, as WBC Super Flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (43-4-1, 38) [ศรีสะเกษ นครหลวงโปรโมชั่น] makes his first defense of the title, facing the man he beat for the belt, Nicaraguan great Roman Gonzalez (46-1, 38).
Yesterday the two men took part in a press conference to speak about the bout, and their first contest.
Gonzalez said he was glad to get a second fight with Srisaket and the opportunity to put on another great fight. He stated that his training had been mostly in Japan and it's clear that this time he, and his team, aren't viewing the bout as a foregone conclusion, knowing just how dangerous, powerful, tough and strong Srisaket is.
As for the champion he also stated that the bout was going to be tough, like the first one was, but that he was taking the belt back to Thailand. He showed clear motivation to retain the title and spoke about his youth, which saw him being being incredibly poor at one point, and goes some way to explaining the early defeats on his record.
The bout will main event "Superfly" this comign Saturday and every fight fan should be tuning into potentially the best card of 2017.
Srisaket and Gonzalez battle again, but will it be repeat or revenge?
