Tomorrow fight fans in Japan get an interesting show in Hyogo featuring a pair of world title fights. Those world title fights aren't the only bouts of note to take place on the card with another very interesting match up being made between highly regarded Japanese youngster Shuya Masaki (3-0, 2) [正木 脩也] and Filipino Vergil Puton (15-6, 7).
Today the two men took part in the weigh in with both men scaling under the 132lb contracted limit.
On the scales Masaki was a career low 131¾lbs, a full 1lb lighter than he was in December when he fought Fumio Ujihara. Puton on the other hand weighed in at a career high of 129½lbs, and did look like he was carrying a tiny bit of excess weight whilst Masaki looked in great shape.
Despite being the bigger man Masaki is the one stepping up in class, significantly, for this bout and we're expecting to see him face some adversity during the contest.
