Earlier today in Osaka Japanese fans got a real treat as they saw the much touted Sho Nakazawa (8-0, 4) being given a test by the "better than his record suggests" Daisuke Watanabe (2-2, 2).
The talented Nakazawa, viewed by some as a potential star from the second city of Japan, was expected to win, though didn't have things all his own way as Watanabe came to fight.
Early on Nakazawa used his reach and movement but later in the fight it was Watanabe making life difficult, coming forward and trying to to take out Nakazawa, who was showing signs of slowing slightly.
Despite the effort from Watanabe it was a clear win for Nakazawa with cards of 78-75, twice, and 78-73.
Following the win Nakazawa made it clear that 2016 was going to see him fighting for titles, with an an OPBF or a JBC title fight expected.
