Earlier today saw the pre-fight medical screening for the WBC Bantamweight title fight between defending champion Shinsuke Yamanaka and Belgian challenger Stephane Jamoye.
The medical was an interesting one in many respects, notably though they concerned the size advantages of Yamanaka.
The medical showed that Yamanaka was 3cm taller, 2.5cm rangier and had a chest that was 5cm bigger. The only thing Jamoye was bigger in terms of was his neck, by 1cm.
Whilst size wise Yamanaka was larger it is interesting to note that Jamoye is technically more experienced with 7 more fights and 44 more rounds. Those fights for Jamoye have, however, been at a lower level than Yamanaka who has fought in 6 world title fights with 52 rounds at the world level.
