Last year popular Japanese fighter Shingo Wake (20-5-2, 12) [和氣 慎吾] showed his bravery as he took on Dominican slugger Jonathan Guzman in a bout for the IBF Super Bantamweight title, and was stopped in 11 gutsy rounds. He suffered numerous injuries during that bout but those have now healed and today it was announced that he is ready to return to the ring.
The talented sharp shooter, who recently trasnfered gyms, took part in a press confeence today to announce that his next bout will be on July 19th and will see him battle against former Japanese interim Super Bantamweight champion Mikihito Seto (34-13-3, 18) [瀬藤 幹人].
The bout will be the chief support bout of the Kaneko promoted Golden Child 120, with the headline bout being an OPBF Super Bantamweight title defence by former world title challenger Hidenori Otake (28-2-3, 12) [大竹 秀典]. As of yet Otake's opponent hasn't been named, but is expected to be announced shortly, and should be a notable foe given that Otake is looking to move towards a second world title bout.
