From what we understand OPBF Super Bantamweight champion Shingo Wake (16-4-2, 9) has now got one eye on a world title fight which could occur as early as the start of next year.
Wake was introduced to fans yesterday at the Korakuen Hall in front fans who had turned up to watch a Kyoei Gym run show and from what we understand Kyoei will help Wake get a world title fight if, as expected, Wake retains his OPBF title when he faces Jaesung Lee (17-3-2, 9) on July 21st.
From what we understand Wake will remain a fighter of Koguchi Gym though will be pushed by Kyoei gym in a deal that will see the two organisations working closely together. Whilst is may seem a little odd the two gyms have got good working relationships and it's clear Kyoei have the better platform to get Wake a world title fight.
We're unsure which champion Wake will be eyeing up though it's unlikely he'll manage to get any of them this year. This means he'll get a chance to scout all 4 champions who are expected to be in the ring in the the coming months.
