On September 4th fights fans will get their first glimpse of former amateur stand out Satoshi Shimizu [清水 聡] with out a vest and head guard as he makes his long awaited professional debut, taking on Korean fighter In Kyoo Lee (3-2, 1) [이인규] in a 6 round bout.
Today, ahead of that bout, Shimizu took part in a public work out in which he showed his skills and abilities and looked in great condition, making it very clear that he had been preparing hard for the upcoming bout.
As part of the work out he hit the heavy bag, did a prolonged session of shadow boxing, and worked the mitts with trainer Koji Matsumoto. He looked sharp at times, though at others he looked like he was going through the motions for the cameras.
Whilst the work out wasn't the best to watch Shimizu did reveal a lot of information about his trainer and how he's had to reinvent his style to become more of a professional boxer and learning to go the longer distance, something that has been the key of his training since signing professional papers.
