Earlier today saw the official weigh in for Monday's card at the Korakuen Hall. The main event of which is the third meeting between former world title challenger, and current Japanese Featherweight champion Satoshi Hosono (30-2-1, 20) [細野 悟] and mandatory challenger Rikiya Fukuhara (31-8-1, 23) [福原 力也].
On the scales both men made the 126lb limit and both looked in great shape, as they always do.
The men, meeting for the third time in less than 4 years, first fought in 2012 with Hosono scoring a 7th round stoppage of Fukuhara. In 2015 Hosono over-came Fukuhara with a clear decision but Fukuhara bounced back well to earn another crack at the Ohashi gym fighter.
For Hosono a win is expected to help him earn a fourth crack at a world title, with his team likely to use his WBA #2 ranking to try and move him into a shot in summer. For Fukuhara however a loss could be the end of his career, and he knows he's fighting for more than just the title.
Hosono and Fukuhara face off for a third time!
