At the start of September we reported that there had ben talk of an all Thai bout between retired fighters The rumoured bout is an all-Thai one between Samson Dutch Boy Gym (43-0, 26) and Veeraphol Sahaprom (66-4-2, 46). Now our Thai sources are reporting that the bout is now a done deal, and will take place in December.
The bout will be officially announced in October, with the fighters both returning after long breaks from action. The unbeaten, 45 year old, Samson has been out of boxing since 2002. He retired after recording his 43rd straight win and recorded his 38th defense of the WBF Super Flyweight title.
As for the 48 year old Veeraphol the bout will be his first since 2010. The former 2-time Bantamweight champion was one of the most feared fighters of his era, and scored a number of big wins over the likes of Daorung Chuwatana, Rolando Pascua, Jess Maca, Choi Tseveenpurev, Toshiaki Nishioka and Joichiro Tatsuyoshi, among others.
From what we understand the bout will take place at the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium
