On December 27th fight fans in Thailand will get the chance to see the "The Greatest Fight of Legends" show, from Petchyindee promotions. Typically this card wouldn't be big news for us, though for Muay Thai fans the show is worthy of attention, however one of the bouts from the show does have our attention.
That's because the show will feature a bout between Thai veterans Samson Dutch Boy Gym (43-0, 26) and Veeraphol Sahaprom (66-4-2, 46) face off, in what is set to be a strange double-comeback.
Coming in to this Samson, 45, has been out of boxing for over 15 years whilst Veeraphol last fought in 2010, and is 48 years old himself. It's bizarre on paper, but has gotten a decent amount of attention in Thailand, given the status of both men and history.
This morning, December 26th, the two men took part in their weigh in for the bout. Neither looked in the shape they were in during their career, but neither looked in horrific condition either, more like two middle aged men who had hit the gym hard and gotten them selves into decent condition, with Samson looking the better man at the weigh in.
