Whilst not every B grade license debutant it worth getting too excited about it's fair to say that Oowan is getting some attention already for a number of reasons, including the fact he's good friends with future world title challenger Daigo Higa (12-0, 12) [比嘉 大吾], and the fact that like Higa he will be part of the Shirai Gushiken Gym.
The Okinawan youngster impressed during his public spar, which saw him share the ring with Kenya Yamashita (9-3, 6) [山下 賢哉], and many who are aware of his talent are incredibly excited by his potential in the professional ranks. In fact some have been excited for a while with the youngster having impressed in the U15 amateur ranks and apparently he's turned professional after being scouted by Yoko Gushiken himself.
At the pro-test Oowan looked like a talented outside fighter with a razor sharp jab
As a professional Oowan will be fighting at either Super Flyweight or Bantamweight and although his debut hasn't yet been announced it seems clear that the people at the SGS gym have huge hopes for the teenager, who is likely to be guided through the ranks in a calculated, but aggressive, fashion.
