The world ranked fighter, a 2012 Olympic Gold Medal winner, is expected to get top level sparring whilst in the US and is hoping to build on his skills and experience ahead of a return to America later in the year. He's also hoping to take the camp as a "dry run" and will hope to acclimatise to US conditions.
From what we understand Murata will be in the US for 2 to 3 weeks with the sparring being the key to the trip. He's then set to continue training, back in Japan, ahead of his 10th bout, which is set to take place in the US on a Top Rank card in May. His opponent for that one hasn't yet been named however the plan is to also have Zou Shiming (7-1, 2) [邹市明] on the card, with Shiming making his US debut.
Ryota Murata and Zou Shiming pencilled in for American show in May!
