A recent Q&A with American promoter Bob Arum saw the veteran business reveal his plans for Asian hopefuls Ryota Murata (9-0, 6) [村田 諒太] and Zou Shiming (7-1, 2) [邹市明].
According to the Q&A Arum is hoping to showcase both men in Las Vegas in May, with either May 21st or May 28th being the dates that he has in mind.
At the moment no opponents have been mentioned though Arum has revealed that the bouts will be aired internationally with CCTV continuing their coverage of Shiming's bout and Fuji TV continuing to air the Murata bout, though it wasn't stated whether the channels would only show the bout featuring their corresponding fighter.
We'll be awaiting more news on this story, though it seems likely that HBO in America will air the fights and possibly try and use them to build to potential world title fights for both men. In fact it'd be no surprise if HBO do try and use Shiming's fame to try and further the career of Nicaraguan sensation Roman Gonzalez.
For those interested in the full Q&A it can be read at the link below thanks to Japanese sports writer Daisuke Sugiura, and it covers not only the news regarding the Murata and Shiming contests but also touches on Terrence Crawford, Vasyl Lomachenko and Manny Pacquiao.
