The fight, which is set for June 13th, will be Iwasa's first outside of Tokyo though he seemed very confident of picking up the win and the belt on road trip.
At the press conference Iwasa said he was thrilled to be fighting in enemy territory and that he was very confident of the win. He was joined at the press conference by the equally confident Celes Kobayashi, a former Super Flyweight champion and Iwasa's mentor, who hinted that they had done research on Haskins ahead of the bout.
From he press conference it was also revealed that Kobayashi believes the "interim" title will be upgraded to the "regular" IBF title with a strong hint that Randy Caballero will leave the Bantamweight division in the near future.
Although a Japanese fighter has never won a world title in Europe this would seem like a fantastic opportunity to change that. Iwasa is a genuine world class Bantamweight and his confidence suggests that he's determined to make history. Haskins however is no push over and, on paper, he has a number of notable wins and achievements, achievements that Mr Kobayashi and Iwasa are aware of.
