For a third day running this week a Japanese world champion took part in a public work out ahead of their upcoming world title fight.
Today it was the turn of WBA Light Flyweight champion Ryoichi Taguchi (23-2-1, 10) [田口良一] ahead of his third defence of the title, a defence that will see him face off against tricky Venezuelan veteran Juan Jose Landaeta (27-8-1, 21).
At the work out today Taguchi and his team spent notable time talking about the problems he had last time out, and noted they had been doing all they could to prevent getting a cold this time around, which was something he was suffering from last time out. That has seen Taguchi gargling water on a regular basis, additional hand washing and drinking a lot of yoghurt based drinks.
As for the the actual work out, the focus seemed to be on movement with Taguchi having scouted Landaeta and having seen his strengths. There is also notably a lot of confidence from Taguchi who appears to be targeting a stoppage against Landatea, who has never previously been stopped.
