Earlier today boxing world champions Ryoichi Taguchi (24-2-1, 11) [田口良一] and Kohei Kono (32-8-1, 13) [河野 公平] took part in a special training session with former Sumo legend Wakanosato Shinobu.
The session, held at the Watanabe gym, saw the men all their hand at the opposite sport and saw Shinobu's power really impress the trainers at the gym, though he seemed to confess that his stamina wasn't great. For a big man though footage from the session seemed to suggest that Shinobu had relatively quick hands, though hands that had clearly never thrown punches before.
The session, from what we understand, was put together by the supporters clubs of Kono and Taguchi, with Kono having previously trained with professional wrestler Kenta, AKA Hideo Itami from NXT.
The session was light hearted, with all three men looking like they were enjoying each others company as opposed to really pushing themselves, though the experience will certainly have been an interesting one for all 3 men.
