Earlier today we were informed if a rumour regarding Ohashi gym's Featherweight puncher Satoshi Hosono (31-2-1, 20) [細野 悟] who, according to the rumour, will be getting matched with Argentina's Jonathan Victor Barros (40-4-1, 22) later in the year in an IBF world title eliminator.
The bout, rumoured to be taking place in Japan, is likely to come in September on a show that will also feature Takuma Inoue (7-0, 2) [井上 拓真] facing a world ranked fighter in a world title prelude.
For Hosono to get that bout with Barros he would first need to secure a win in his upcoming bout against Indonesian Rasmanudin (19-15-3, 10), who he faces on June 26th in Seoul. That bout does look like a formality for the heavy handed Hosono who will be hoping that a win over Barros would secure him a fourth world title fight in 2017. For Barros the bout would also have a lot of significance with the Argentinian veteran seeking an opportunity to become a 2-time world champion, following a run as the WBA Featherweight champion in 2010-2011.
