This coming Sunday we'll see WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (12-0, 10) [井上 尚弥] look to record his 5th defense of his title as he takes on Ricardo Rodriguez (16-3, 5). Today, ahead of their bout, Rodriguez took part in a short public work out, and spoke to the media, in a really confident manner.
The work was a short one, he showed little in regards to his his skills or game plan, cutting the work out very short, but had spoke to the media in some depth, and during that talk he came across as a man who was there to take the title away from the hottest young fighter in Japan.
Whilst talking to the press Rodriguez was mostly complimentary of Inoue, but stated that the Japanese fighter has weakenesses, and he seemed to be suggesting that the weaknesses of Inoue, specifically fighting up close, will be something that he will use to over-come the "Monster".
Sources in Japan seemed to suggest that Rodriguez has a secret plan, however from what we've sene of the challenger he really doesn't have much at all to threaten Inoue with.
