Earlier today we received great news from Hong Kong which has stated that Rex Tso (13-0, 8) is back in training ahead of his scheduled fight on July 19th at the Cotai Arena in Macao.
It was expected that Tso would have a race against time to even be back in training following his hard bout with Ratchasak Kokietgym back on May 31st, a bout that saw him suffering nose and hand injuries. Thankfully however he seems to have been given the all clear from the doctors.
We've been informed that Tso will pick up light training soon, if he hasn't already, before travelling to the Philippines for a 3 week training camp.
Further news regarding the fight are that it will be a 6 rounder fought at Bantamweight with no titles on the line and an easier opponent than Ratchasak will be fought. It appears on paper as if Tso is dipping his toes at a new weight though we've been informed that Tso is actually looking towards a world title fight in November on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao's fight. From what we understand that bout could be against Kohei Kono who hinted at such a contest earlier this year.
Whilst more details on this bout will be revealed shortly we're very happy to hear that Tso will be in action so soon after the Ratchasak fight. Although not the most skilled he is box office action and is a fighter we always enjoying seeing fight even if we don't feel he's ready for a world title contest just yet.
