Interestingly Konishi proved to be the bigger man, at least from the measurements taken at the medical, something that wasn't really expected given that he has most fought as a Minimumweight, where he claimed the Japanese national title.
The Japanese fighter boasted a 4cm height advantages, a 2cm reach advantage and was 4.5cm thicker around the chest. In fact the only notable measurement where Canizales was bigger was in terms of his neck, which was 1cm thicker than that of the Japanese fighter.
Although the smaller man Canizales does have the edge in power and experience, having fought in a previous world title bout where he fought to a draw with Ryoichi Taguchi. He'll be hoping those will be enough to over-comea man taking part in his first world title bout, in front of his local fans in Japan.
