Earlier today saw popular Japanese warrior Akira Yaegashi (20-4, 10) take to his blog to give some teasers about his future including the big revelation that he has got a press conference set for later today to announce his next bout.
Yaegashi, a former WBA Minimumweight and WBC Flyweight world champion, will be fighting for the first time since his loss to Roman Gonzalez in September. From what we understand the press conference is set to confirm the rumour that we reported last week regarding a bout between Yaegashi and Mexico's Pedro Guevara (23-1-1, 15) for the WBC Light Flyweight title, a bout that other sites appear set to confirm as well.
The rumour that we reported suggests that Yaegashi will be fighting Guevara on December 30th with the bout being added to the already interesting card headlined by Naoya Inoue's (7-0, 6) WBO Super Flyweight title bout against Omar Andres Narvaez (43-1-2, 23). If the conference is regarding this card then we would have 3 very good looking bouts between Japanese fighters and South American fighters with a bout between Takuma Inoue (3-0, 1) and Nestor Daniel Narvaes (20-2-2, 9) also already announced.
