Earlier today in Thailand saw a press conference to announce a show for February 25th. The show isn't a big one by any means but it will feature a number of notable names including a former world champion, a man that some in Thailand are tipping as a future world champion and a promising young prospect.
The former world champion is the highly experienced Oleydong Sithsamerchai (55-1-1, 21), now fighting under the moniker of Oleydong CP Freshmart. Oleydong is a former WBC Minimumweight champion and is now a highly regarded contender at Super Flyweight where he has been competing since losing his world title to Kazuto Ioka way back in 2011.
The man viewed as a future world champion is former Muay Thai great Palangpol CP Freshmart (7-1, 4), who will be in the main event defending his WBA Asia Light Flyweight title. The hope is for Palangpol to fight for a world title later this year, with the talk being that he may fight for the WBO title as his promoter looks to tie up all 4 Minimumweight straps.
The third notable fighter on this card will be one of our favourite teenage fighters, Kongfah CP Freshmart (11-0, 6)* who has looked devastating at times. Aged 19 Kongfah has a very bright future ahead of him and it's clear that there is no need to rush this promising fighter who has some of the most beautiful uppercuts in the sport.
From what we understand the exciting trio of CP Freshmart fighters will be fighting against a trio of Filipino opponents.
