On Monday Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall will get a treat as they get the chance to see Dangan 137. The show is one of the real Japanese highlights thus far in to the year and features 4 really notable bouts. One of those bouts will see youngster Ken Shiro (3-0, 2) battling against fellow Japanese fighter Takashi Omae (13-4-5, 1), another will see OPBF Light Welterweight champion Keita Obara (14-1, 13) fight in a non-title bout against Thai visitor Khompetch Sithsaithong (5-5, 5). On some lesser shows either of those bouts could be headline contests however this show is headlined by a pair of OPBF title defenses.
Those bouts will see Vinvin Rufino (37-16-3, 16) defending his Featherweight title against local favourite Ryo Takenaka (12-3-1, 6), in an intriguing match up between two victims of Hisashi Amagasa, and Masayuki Ito (16-1-1, 7) trading shots with Dai Iwai (17-3-1, 6) for the Super Featherweight title.
Today we are happy to report that both of the title bouts will be aired, on tape delay and possibly in an abridged version, on Fuji TV on Saturday August 15th. Sadly it does seem like only the two title bouts will be aired though we suspect footage of both Ken Shiro and Obara will surface between the actual show and the broadcast several days later.
For those interested in watch the broadcast is set to be aired at 26:10 on August 15th, for fans internationally that's 18:10 in London and sadly you'll have to offset for local times from that.
