Earlier today saw Japanese promoter Hiranaka announce their next show, set for May 21st in Okinawa.
Although the card was announced, and the poster was released, not many of the bouts from the show were made public, in fact only the main event was. Though it was an interesting and significant match up that was announced, as we try to see a title vacancy being filled.
That match up Seita Ogido (11-2-2, 3) [荻堂 盛太] battle against unbeaten Filipino Edward Heno (10-0-4, 4) for the currently vacant OPBF Light Flyweight title, which was handed back recently by Ken Shiro head of his up coming WBC world title fight.
For Heno the bout will see him looking to add to the Philippines Boxing Federation (PBF) Light Flyweight title, a title he won in March when he stopped Cris Ganoza. For Ogido the bout could potentially see him claiming his first title, following a drawn bout in January to Jonathan Refugio for the WBC Youth title.
The bout is a mouth watering encounter between two talented young fighters looking to claim their career best win and although neither man is massively well known the winner will find themselves in the mix for some very interesting bouts, a given given the status of the division right now in Asia.
