Boxing has many firsts, but it has yet to see a a Singaporean hold a major recognised title. On November 12th Nurshahidah Roslie (4-0, 2) looks to change that as she takes on Gentiane Lupi (4-3-1, 2) for the WBA Oceania female Super Featherweight title, and add the belt to her lightly regarded UBO Inter Continental title.
Roslie, AKA "The Sniper", became the first Singaporean female professional boxer earlier this year when made he debut back in February after a successful amateur career. In UBO Inter Continental title.in June she became the first to claim any title and now she looks to step up in class and become a holder of a "big 4" title, and continue building towards a world title fight.
Lupi, a New Zelander who debuted as a boxer back in 2014 when she faced Shannon O'Connell. Since then she has mixed with good fighters, including Daniella Smith and Ronica Jeffrey. Prior to boxing she had competed in Kickboxing and MMA and had success in both, though is now 40 years old.
The bout will headline the upcoming SFC 4 "Changing the Game" show, promoted by Singapore Fighting Championship.
