This past weekend British promoter Frank Warren suggested that Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue (8-0, 7) was struggling to remain at Super Flyweight, ahead of his first defense of the WBO title.
That however seems to have been refuted by the Inoue camp who have been quoted in the Japanese press as saying that Inoue is set to make weight "more comfortable" than he has done at any other point in his career. In fact it seems like the mere suggestion of weight struggles is a bizarre one.
The weight loss is thought to be put down to a change in diet with a "secret recipe" having been mentioned by his camp and in fact his team seem to be leaving the cooking of the pre-fight meal down to Naoya's wife.
Whilst Inoue will likely out grow the Super Flyweight division, it does seem like he isn't a rush to move up to Bantamweight, despite the suggestion from Warren who was likely being a typical promoter and twisting what he'd heard to play up a potential bout of his own.
