Earlier today, September 2nd, we brought you the results from the preliminary screening of this weekend's WBC Light Flyweight world title bout between Naoya Inoue (6-0, 5) and Samartlek Kokietgym (17-4, 5). From that screening we made a note about the size difference of the two men with Inoue standing some 8.5cm taller than his Thai foe.
At the time of that news we didn't have a picture of the two men stood together though now we do. As you can see in the picture Inoue is clearly the taller fighter. We're unsure if the image fully shows the true difference between the two men, as Inoue does look like he's slouching a tad, though it is very clear that the Thai will be the much smaller man in the ring.
Although the weigh in isn't until Thursday it's thought that both men will easily make weight. Samartlek is a fighter who has spent much of his career at Minimumweight whilst Inoue has hired a dietician for this fight and has said that he's very comfortable at the weight this time around. Saying that however it's almost a certainty that Inoue will be the much heavier man in the ring on Friday afternoon.
As well as the clear height difference we are also aware that Inoue has a significantly longer reach than Samartlek allowing Inoue to box at range if he wishes, though it's expected that he will look for a tear up to despatch of Samartlek quickly.
