This coming Saturday fight fans in Japan will get the chance to see the incredibly talented WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (14-0, 12) [井上 尚弥] returnign to the ring to make his 7th defense of the title. The "Monster" will be facing off with French challenger Yoan Boyeaux (41-4, 26) in what is expected to be Inoue's final bout at 115lbs before he chases a third divisional world title up at Bantamweight.
Today the two men underwent their physical examinations for the bout and both passed the medical tests with no issues.
What could be an issues, at least for the champion, is that the physical showed the huge difference in size between the two men. The challenger is 6cm taller than Inoue and is boasting a 7cm advantage in reach. Those two traits are both going to give Inoue some issues, despite the fact Boyeaux often doesn't use them to his advantage.
Interestingly the size difference could well give Inoue a bit of a "live test" before he needs to start fighting bigger men on a regular basis at Bantamweight, with his first Bantamweigh bout now expected next Spring.
