A few weeks ago we heard British promoter Frank Warren claim that Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue (8-0, 7) was on the verge of vacating his WBO Super Flyweight title due to issues making weight. Those weren't apparent earlier today when Inoue, and upcoming opponent Warlito Parrenas (24-6-1, 21) both made weight ahead of their bout tomorrow.
The limit of 115lbs wasn't an issue for either man, with both making the limit on their first attempt.
On the scales Inoue was 114.8lbs, well under the limit of the division and lower than his last bout, where he was 115lbs against Omar Andres Narvaez. Parrenas on the other hand was way under the limit and was in fact just under 114lbs.
With both making weight, and both looking in great shape we're expecting something very special tomorrow, as we always do when Inoue is in the ring.
*Note-Boxrec.com list Inoue as being 114.75lbs whilst the JBC list Inoue as being 115lbs, that's due to the rounding process that both use with the weight originally recorded in KG's.
