According to multiple sources in Thailand Thai promoter Nakornluang are set to file a complaint to the WBC in the wake of the recent between their fighter Suriyan Sor Rungvisai (46-7-1, 23) [สุริยัน ศ.รุ่งวิสัย] and former WBA Bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (36-4-1, 12).
Suriyan has started that Moreno was a very good boxer, and apologised for coming up short against the Panamanian. His team however feel that their man was unfairly treat by the referee, Jay Nady.
The main part of the complaint seems to stem from the second round. It was round that saw Suriyan being dropped following several low blows, and also being caught by a headbutt.
It seems that Nakorluang will be asking for a rematch to be held between the two men, in a venue other than Panama and without Jay Nady as the referee. The reality, we suspect, will be that the WBC will not be ordering a rematch but will keep Suriyan high in their rankings.
Interestingly the WBC seem to have been inundated with complaints recently, from a number of fighters and this appears to just be the latest complaint heading their way.
