Sadly the press conference was to announce that Tatsuyoshi's injury woes were continuing, and that he was being forced to cancel a scheduled July 9th bout Jundullah M Fauzan (3-1)*. Not only is the bout off but Tatsuyoshi has been told to spend the next month resting, and will not be back in training until August, meaning that he may not actually fight at all in 2017, following 3 fights in both 2015 and 2016.
This is the second bout this year that Tatsuyoshi, the son of the legendary Joichiro Tatsuyoshi, has had to pull out of a contest, having had to pull out of a scheduled February bout with Shun Ishibashi [石橋 俊] due to another injury. And it's a shame to see his career hit a wall in what was supposed to be a big year for him professionally.
Despite the professional frustration the youngster is an expectant father and his first child is expected to be born in the coming weeks, so resting from training may be a little bit easier for the youngster.
