Yesterday we reported that Japanese fighter Ryosuke Iwasa (19-1, 12) was preparing for his upcoming IBF "interim" Bantamweight title bout with Englishman Lee Haskins (31-3, 13) by sparring with Filipino pair Jhaleel Payao (11-0, 6) and Diarh Gabutan (19-4-3, 10). Today we've learned more information regarding the preparations for Iwasa.
Firstly he's been having acupuncture with the fighter himself posting a picture of his back several needles in it. The therapy, as many know, is viewed with some skepticism in the west though it is still a popular treatment with many receiving it for pain relief.
Secondly Iwasa will be having his public training session on May 20th. We're not totally clear on the time of this session though definitely appears to be set for May 20th. From what we understand it will take place at the Celes gym, though that hasn't been confirmed.
And finally Iwasa will be heading to Bristol for the bout on May 24th which should give him plenty of time to acclimatise to the conditions in the UK, including the time zone.
